Scholarship Timeline:
Applications due January 11, 2025
Only one scholarship will be awarded per student, and no more than two scholarships can be applied for from this Foundation. We encourage you to apply for many
scholarships other than what is listed below. Click on each link below to view the scholarship qualifications and download forms:
WHO MAY APPLY:
- John F. Kennedy High School student graduating May 2025, and having attended JFK for one year
- Plan to attend a Post-Secondary school full-time in 2025-2026
SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA:
- GPA
- Personal Statement
- Recommendations
- Outside involvement, i.e., volunteering and working
- School activities
SCHOLARSHIP RECOGNITION:
Scholarship winners will be recognized at a dinner on April 26th, 2025. Please click on the News button on the Home page for more information.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:
Scholarship Certificates will be awarded at Senior Awards Night (date to be announced).
ELIGIBLE POST-SECONDARY SCHOOLS:
Funds must be used at an accredited Post-Secondary School for your continued education after high school graduation. This could include two-year or four-year colleges/universities; technical, vocational or professional schools.
HOW TO APPLY:
- Applications are available on October 23rd, 2024
- Read carefully each scholarship “Application Information” page
- Carefully determine your eligibility
- Follow instructions and write a Personal Statement
- Request your transcript
- Request letters of recommendation from two teachers and any other required documentation(s)
- Complete the application
- Send the completed application and ALL supporting documents to:
[email protected] - Deadline: postmark must be no later than by January 11th, 2025
- NOTE: NO APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED UNTIL ALL SUPPORTING MATERIALS ARE RECEIVED
- Personal interviews with applicants will be scheduled during March 2025 Scholarship awards will be announced shortly thereafter.

Emphasis on GPA, school activities, work/volunteering – six $1,500 scholarships
Aragona Family
Emphasis on being a member of JROTC – one $1,000 scholarship
Eva Lutz Memorial
Plans to major in the Arts – one $1,000 scholarship
Kiwanis Club of La Palma
Plans to attend a Community College to study in the field of Social Sciences – one $1,000 scholarship
Chris O'Neal Memorial
Emphasis on community volunteerism – one $2,500 scholarship
Nitesh & Niti Patel Family
Importance of continuing education – one $1,000 scholarship
Glenn Taylor Memorial
Plans to become a teacher – one $1,000 scholarship
La Palma Community Foundation
Plans to attend a Community College – Two $500 scholarship
La Palma Intercommunity Hospital Healthcare
Plans to major in the healthcare field – one $1,000 scholarship
Donald Widen Memorial
Emphasis on math & science – one $1,000 scholarship
John Alvis Memorial
Plans to earn an elementary teaching credential – one $1,000 scholarship
